SNC-Lavalin
ProFac participates with many charitable organizations in
providing temporary occupancy to aid in their campaigns. The
Red Cross regular blood donor clinics, The Canadian Cancer
Society annual daffodil drive and the Ottawa Children’s
Treatment Center’s fundraising campaign, to name a few.
Human
Resource Social Development Canada is a strong United Way
supporter. Portage IV is headquarter to the departmental campaign
drive. SNC-Lavalin ProFac works hand in hand with the organizers
to provide help and to accommodate their needs during this
high intensity campaign. Typically, they organize and host
of fundraising events both inside the building and outside
in the courtyard areas. These include a barbecue, craft and
food fare, walk-a-ton through the Complex, to name a few.
Other
kiosks and information sessions are held throughout the year
to promote citizenship and support departmental and federal
programs. On a yearly basis, Portage IV participates in Portage
en fête, a street festival usually held during the month
of June and held by local merchants over a period of one weekend
on the street of Promenade du Portage.
Portage
IV is a proud participant in the National Capital Commission’s
“Christmas Lights Across Canada” program. This
program celebrates the winter season by coordinating the lighting
of Christmas lights with all buildings located along Confederation
Boulevard and other national symbols and major attractions
throughout the National Capital Region.
